This is a sum that far exceeded expectations, the initial objective for this first initiative having been set at $25,000. Recall that Movember is the leading philanthropic organization dedicated to changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and the prevention of suicide, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

“To strengthen our position as a destination for Pros, we launched a brand new blitz this year with The month of the Pros, a promotional campaign that ran throughout the month of November. This was directly linked to our VIPpro program, which revolves around two themes: featured products and prices. In addition to the activities, games and contests that took place in store, we wanted to include a philanthropic component to challenge our professional clientele, which is predominantly male. This is how Movember became a natural choice: the marriage was perfect! We are delighted with the positive response to this campaign and believe it is important to give back to the communities we serve,” explains Catherine Laporte, Vice-President Marketing at Lowe’s Canada.

Lowe’s involvement in Movember is not the group’s only charitable activity. On October 27, as part of the Lowe’s Canada Heroes campaign, employees of Rona Deslongchamps in Maniwaki and Rona Val-des-Monts raised $7,288 to support the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Health Foundation and the Summit School.
